We’re rolling into Thanksgiving week, which means a whole lot of NFL football is on the horizon and I’m just itching to talk about it. I’ve already did my NFL updatez/check-in post for this month, so I had to find some other way to be able to talk about football and this was my bright idea. If you know me at all or have followed this blog for some amount of time then you probably know that I’m a big fan of rankings lists, top 10 lists, and everything like that, so this should be a fun one. Just a quick sidenote, but I feel like with a list like this I need to preface it and explain myself some before diving in otherwise NFL fans will jump all over me. This is fully a biased list. This doesn’t have to do with stats or who I think is the best at each respective position or anything like that. That would be a much different list for even me and I’m aware. This is just who my personal 10 favorite NFL players are currently in 2025. So, let’s get into it.
#10: Xavier Legette (#17, WR, Carolina Panthers)

XL maybe hasn’t turned out to be exactly what the Panthers hoped for when they drafted him, but he’s one of the best and most genuine people and personalities in the NFL and it’s not even close. The man is one of one. I’ve never seen a video with Legette in it that I’ve skipped past and didn’t watch all of it. The man’s southern drawl may not be the easiest to understand all the time, but his energy and positivity is infectious, and I’ve been a fan since day 1 in the NFL. He’s coming a bit more into himself this season as well which has been great to see. He’s a steady WR2/3 for the Panthers behind Tet McMillian and has gotten his drops a little more under control. They just need him to be a big-bodied distraction with reliable hands out there and it feels like he’s starting to understand his role a little better and find himself, so I’m hopeful he’ll just keep improving and stick around in the league for a while because I love seeing him and hearing from him.
#9: Travis Hunter (#12, WR/CB, Jacksonville Jaguars)

We haven’t gotten to see too much from Hunter in the NFL just yet because he got injured this year in his rookie season, but what we did see was pretty fun! He’s just a quick, energetic, and exciting player to watch and he’s one in his own because he plays both sides of the ball and I love that aspect about him. I don’t watch too much college football, but he was one of the few players I have followed since college, and I’ve always liked him. He’s a really fun player to watch on the field and he plays both sides of the ball very proficiently which is incredible, but he also just seems like a genuine dude. The guy always has a smile on his face, always seems like he’s pleasant to be around, and just feels like a kid that’s happy to be out there living out his dream. I have high hopes for Travis in the NFL and am excited to see what’s to come for him still throughout his career, he could climb this list rapidly. I hope he never changes as a player on the field or off it.
#8: Trevon Diggs (#7, CB, Dallas Cowboys)

So yes, again if you follow this blog then you know I’m a Dallas Cowboys fan. Before half of you tune out, I am a rational one so don’t hate me too much, but I will show some bias towards some of my teams on this list so fair warning, not the last time you’ll see a Cowboys player. I have liked Diggs since he came into the league, his first couple years were absolutely incredible, and I still think that player is in him, but he has been plagued with injuries the last few seasons. If there’s ever any time the Cowboys need a defender like that dog that’s in him it’s this season, but again he’s been shelved for a large part of it. I know he’s been burned on plays a lot more these last couple of years and it has been frustrating to watch. I’m hoping with all these injuries he’s faced that he can still get back to at least a very capable corner and stay healthy because it has truly sucked to see this stuff continue to happen to him, but only time will really tell.
#7: Joe Burrow (#9, QB, Cincinnati Bengals)

Joe Cool is truly that man. In the most un-gay way there is to even say this, the guy looks like he belongs on magazine covers and in cologne commercials, not on the football field. The NFL has already had a Broadway Joe, now there’s a Runway Joe. The best part about all of it though is that he’s an absolute executioner on the football field. In my mind he’s easily one of the best QBs of this generation. He is accurate from close range, all the way to down the field, and drops some of the prettiest and most effortless looking dimes I’ve ever seen. The only tough part about it is that he’s had a hard time staying healthy as well and gets beat up nearly every year because his offensive line hardly exists. I’ve never seen a player that a team obviously relies on so heavily not work on trying to protect him like the Bengals have done with Joe these last few seasons. Alas, if he could stay healthy, Burrow and his receiving weapons in Cincy could be a threat literally any and every season.
#6: Maxx Crosby (#98, DE, Las Vegas Raiders)

Maxx Crosby again is just such an effortlessly cool kind of player. Covered in tattoos, he’s the kind of guy that will cause absolute chaos for an offensive line all game, crush a QB, and talk smack while doing all of it, and then go chill in an ice bath and smoke a Cuban cigar after it’s all said and done. It really feels like he was just made to be a football player, like this is truly what a guy like Maxx was meant to be out there doing. Thank God there’s a football field because he’d probably be throwing people onto their backs in the supermarket if he didn’t have an outlet for all of that. Crosby is stuck in a kind of hopeless environment on the Raiders, and they’ve been terrible for a lot of his time there, but he just feels perfect for that team. It fits him so well. Just that smashmouth, dark, in your face image that’s attributed with them. He is that guy and the perfect face for that franchise. I hope for better days for Maxx and the Raiders, but again he can’t fix that offense, so only time will tell.
#5: Jaycee Horn (#8, CB, Carolina Panthers)

The 2nd Panthers player on my list. Jaycee Horn is one of the best shutdown cornerbacks in the league and a hugely important piece to the Panthers at times suffering defense. I’ve seen him make some excellent defensive plays, but more than anything he just comes off like a smart player with a good knowledge of football and a level head. He always finds where he needs to be on the field or who he needs to pick up in coverage or whatever is needed of him on any given play. It makes sense given he’s a second-generation player and his dad played in the league before him, I’m sure certain knowledge and do’s and don’ts have been drilled into his head since he first picked up a football as a little kid. He may not get as much talk and notoriety as some other defenders in the league from the casual fan because he’s a rather quiet player and has dealt with a couple of injuries in his young career as well, but football heads and analysts rank him up near some of the top corners in the game as well so that’s not for nothing.
#4: Baker Mayfield (#6, QB, Tampa Bay Buccaneers)

Baker seems like one of the realest and most fun teammates to have in the league today. Always cracking jokes and keeping things light with his teammates, while still bringing that almost careless for his personal well-being type of intensity that only Baker can while on the football field. The man is like a guy’s guy who just happens to be really good at football and made it for all of us. The guy shoots from the hip, he’s a risk taker, sometimes it pays off in dividends and sometimes it really doesn’t, but my goodness does he make the game fun to watch every time he’s on the field. I am also a Browns fan and will never really forgive them for how dirty they did Baker and have been a real fan of his since then, so I’ll never turn my back on him at this point. I’m glad he found his true opportunity in Tampa, and he’s made the most of it up to this point. If Evans, Godwin, and Irving could’ve stayed healthy this season who knows where they would be at this point because he’s been on fire. I am hoping for the best for Bake and the Bucs though.
#3: Dak Prescott (#4, QB, Dallas Cowboys)

Yes, I am a Dak Prescott supporter. Always have been and I always will be. I was a Tony Romo fan as well. I think Dak is actually a very good QB, easily a Top 10 in the league currently, Top 5 when you consider certain stats, numbers, and how we rank QBs. I’m well aware he hasn’t had the success in the playoffs, but you can say that about a number of quarterbacks in the league currently. He gets the extra hate because he plays for the Cowboys and I get it. Bigger spotlight, known and eccentric owner, some loud and delusional fans, so I understand. Yet, he continues to set Cowboys all-time franchise records for QBs and will take the all-time passing yards record this season as well. None of the problems with this team should be attributed to him (especially this season). He makes the team operate so much better when he’s on the field, that’s undeniable, and he is fun to watch as well. He has always loved to air that ball out and having Lamb and Pickens to air it out to this season has kept the gifts coming. The man is a real gunslinger, and I’ll continue to be an advocate.
#2: Myles Garrett (#95, DE, Cleveland Browns)

“Myles Garrett is A MONSTER!” That’s something I find myself saying multiple times a season every single season since he came into the league. The guy is literally so good, so unstoppable. They consistently double cover this man on the line, and he still finds ways to break through and create problems for QBs. Just all muscle and so fast off the jump, he’s the kind of player that offenses actually have to plan around because they know he’s going to be a disruptor. He’s also the like one consistent, shining light on the Cleveland Browns, kind of like Maxx with the Raiders. They’ve had a couple okay seasons since Myles has been there and made the playoffs a time or 2, but for the most part they’re just hopeless on offense, despite him putting up monstrous numbers year after year. Garrett is currently sitting at 16 sacks right now I think and is on a believable pace to break the NFL’s single season all-time sacks record, and the Browns season is pretty much done already. It’s honestly sad, but again I like the Browns, so I selfishly don’t want him to go. I just want them to be better for him.
#1: Ceedee Lamb (#88, WR, Dallas Cowboys)

Lamb is GOAT. Ceedee Lamb has been my favorite player for a few years at this point and in my mind and I think most people’s minds (even the Cowboys haters and that’s saying something) he’s a Top 5, if not Top 3 wide receiver in the NFL right now. I mean, he wouldn’t be given the coveted #88 in Dallas if he wasn’t deserving of having it. He’s speedy, a great route runner, sure hands, comes down with most contested catches, and is a risk to break open an explosive play at any time. He’s struggled with a few fumbles here and there, but most receivers do, especially with defenders flying in to punch out the ball nowadays. His overall production has been cut into a little bit this season as well with the addition of Pickens, but it’s created Hell for defenses also trying to find ways to cover 2 quick route running receivers with a capable quarterback at the helm. Ceedee is THE generational Cowboys receiver with an extensive skill set though and the #88 proves that. His numbers haven’t been as reflective of it this season as some years past, but he spent a few weeks sidelined with an ankle injury and like I said Pickens is getting fed some of the deep passes now as well. Which is good from an offensive standpoint, and I love to see it as a fan, but I’d be lying if I said a Dak to Ceedee break away deep ball isn’t still my favorite play in the NFL currently.
